21 Nov 2018, Mosul, Iraq Established in 4th century AD, and believed to be the oldest Christian Church outside of Palestine, this location was used by Islamic State(IS) as a holding prison for men awaiting trial.
G4S Tier 2 Medic James Jewel stands at the rear door of the church securing the area during a visit by members of the G4S Senior Management Team. In the courtyard beyond are piles of satellite dishes confiscated by IS to isolate and control the flow of information to residents within the territory they had seized.
G4S were operating in Mosul on behalf of the UN Mine Action Services, clearing explosive remnants of war, a necessary task ahead of reconstruction.From Mosul: November 2018

21 November 2018 Al Maedan, West Mosul, Iraq. Two G4S Static security guards guarding the Al Maedan area, while G4S Ordnance Management teams operate in the area to clear the place of explosive remnants of war.
As part of the Mosul reconstruction, G4S were supporting UN Mine Action Services efforts to clear explosive remnants of war in Al Maedan district. G4S completed the clearance of the Syrian, Armenian and other Churches in the area.From Mosul: November 2018
